Halloween Activities

Below is a curated list of Halloween activities that can be done on any PC, laptop, or Chromebook. I broke them down into four different categories to make it easier to find an activity that is right for your classroom!

English

In this collection you will find three activities. The first two challenge students to find items in a haunted house using clues that test their beginning english language skills. These are meant for lower elementary.

For the older students out there, there is Spelloween. In the first round they must find the correctly spelled word. In the second they must not only find the misspelled, but they must then also spell it correctly!

Math

Using the three websites here students are tested in their addition, subtraction, and multiplication skills.

Plus students get to paint ghosts, I mean, how fun is that!

Puzzle & Abstract Thinking

These were by far my favorite activities! Each activity offers a challenge that students must solve through a series of logic & reasoning puzzles. These are great for any grade level and could even be done in groups.

Pumpkin Carving

What Halloween activities list would be complete without a little pumpkin carving action!

So save yourself a trip to the emergency room this year and carve your pumpkin on your laptop or Chromebook!

@Tina, Be sure to try out the Puzzle & Abstract thinking ones too! I spent way to much time playing those :)

"SPELLED"... NOT SPELT. Spelt is a grain- type of wheat. I am hoping this was supposed to be a "funny" mistake... but it didn't seem like it was ...???

@Katie, that is true in American English, but in other versions of English spelled and spelt are interchangeable. In fact, the Spelloween website was created by the British Council. Therefore their spelling is correct. This would be a great lesson for students when teaching globalization!

@Polly, that word itself has gone through some interesting changes in the past twenty years. The manner in which you are using it would be the slang version which actually originated in the 1990s. I had to Google that myself since I wasn't sure of its etymology. Here is the full history if you are interested: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owned
