Storybird is one of those little web gems you often hear about, but never actually tried. Storybird allows students to use predetermined images to create a poem, picture book, or even multi-chapter book. When a student creates aStorybird they have given certain pictures to choose from. Once they do, it is their job to create a story based off of those images. This can be pretty tricky and challenging for a student, or even a educator. The short story I created above was truly a labor of love. The end result though is pretty neat. Students can see their creations online and share them with fellow classmates via a URL. These stories could even be embedded in a website like I did above. So if you are a teacher looking to get students into more creative writing, be sure to give Storybird a try!
