1 Second Everyday is an app that stitches the moments of your life into a single continuous chronological movie.

This has been one of the highest recommended app for several years and this is the first time I have ever seen it go free! Normally the price ranges from $2.99-6.99.

Hooked on Phonics First Grade starts where Learn to Read leaves off, at a beginning-of-the-year First Grade reading level. It’s for children who have completed Kindergarten (or the Hooked on Phonics Learn to Read app) who can sound out simple 3-letter words and are just starting to read on their own. It teaches new skills like beginning consonant blends (such as –ch and -sh) and first grade sight words. This app helps build fluency and develops confidence to foster reading success.

Tiggly Tales: Word Building & Storytelling Kids Game

Today's free app alert comes from the amazing educator Jen Christy who teaches at Woodland Elementary.
Tiggly Tales: Word Building & Storytelling Kids Game allows students to explore three letter words. They are allowed to try different letter combinations, and when they make a real word, they are rewarded with a entertaining animation.

There is a feature to record a video using objects from the game, but I found it to be a tad buggy.

The app overall though is great for younger elementary students or students with certain learning disabilities.
